I broke my droid and switched back to a blackberry can I still make a claim if i have the droids esn.?

I dropped my droid in some water, and switched to a blackberry I had. I still have the droids esn number. If I called verizon and switched my current blackberry esn back to the droids esn would I be able to still make a claim even though I wouldnt be able to dial *228?
